After a crazy trip, I have arrived in Paris! I feel right at home, and I don’t feel afraid to speak French. It is coming quite fluidly to my lips.

I arrived at the Winnipeg airport at 5:20ish am, with my mom, and the woman working for Northwest said, “You shouldn’t arrive this late, you may have missed your flight!” I felt extremely rushed, but when I got into the lineup, I found out that all of the other people in the line were on my flight too! What’re they going to do, leave with an empty plane?

So off we go to Minneapolis. I actually like the Minneapolis airport – it’s big, there are lots of nice little shops, and it’s not too busy. They have these leather lounge chairs in quiet areas, which was a very good relaxation time. I took my time getting to my gate, and ate a little bit, and then it was already time to board.

For everyone who knows the whole hullaballoo about Fargo (I didn’t want to go there, but I had to to check in for my paris flight): I spent less than 10 minutes there! I got off the plane and went immediately to check in for my paris flight, and she asked me, “How much do you want to stay in Fargo?” I was through security and on the flight to Chicago within 7 minutes.

That gave me 6 hours to wait in Chicago. I explored the airport a bit, had lunch, talked to people from all over the states, did some homework, bought a travel pillow, and got a 15-minute massage (which felt long overdue after hauling my backpack around for 5 hours!).
When I went to wait to board my paris flight, I sat and watched amelie on my laptop. A frenchman trying to make conversation asked me if I was watching a porn film!! I was so embarrassed and I blushed so hard.

The flight was probably the best international flight I’ve had. As soon as we got our dinner, I took a sleeping pill and was out for 6 hours. I woke up in the middle of it for about half an hour, but other than that it was fantastic! I was all decked out in my travel pillow and my ‘beauty sleep’ eye mask (don’t ask)…. mmmmm. There were lots of kids around me, so I thought it would be too noisy, but it wasn’t too bad, and I had a good conversation with one dad from Sacramento.

sooooo…
here I am!
I’m not sure if I’ll update that often on this trip because I’m only here for 4 1/2 days, but I’ll keep you posted if something extraordinary happens.

a bientot!
